Birthday Brunch and James Bond

Last Sunday was one of my roommate’s birthday. For brunch, I suggested she dine at Lincoln Restaurant. They have an amazing brunch! There is an all-you-can-handle Chef Station, featuring made-to-order omelette or waffle along with fruit, jellies, jams, sweet butter and syrup. It is so hard to eat one pumpkin waffle and be too full to go back for another. Included in their Chef Station brunch is the option to go bottomless for a Mimosa, Bellini or Bloody Mary, if you are into those. It was a great afternoon of sampling, sipping and smiles. I got very lucky to find two great roommates.

After brunch, I saw the new James Bond movie, Skyfall. I feel like such a sheep – watching it on opening weekend. But the light jacket I wore that day, since it was a warm 69 degrees out, made me feel pretty bad ass. It was grey leather, short, with really cool, cosmetic zippers around the collar as well as the bottom of the sleeves – I’m in love with the jacket.

Anyway, back to Skyfall. I enjoyed it. It was long – 2.5 hours. I’m not sure I liked it better than the other James Bond movies though. I was entertained, I laughed, I even became intrigued at times but I’d say to wait for the DVD. Especially since it’s easier to pause and take a potty break in your own home. I was too worried I would miss something if I took a break in the middle even though I really needed to!

Oh, I went to Matchbox for dinner – that place is awesome! I got the cheesiest pizza they had – of course – and it was great! I was surprised that I could be hungry so soon after Lincoln, but it must have been the smell of the wood fired oven that made me want to make room for more.
